The Ethiopian Capital Market Administrative Tribunal and the Afar Regional State Supreme Court have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration.
The MoU is designed to facilitate the joint organization of awareness and capacity building forums on capital market legal frameworks. It is expected to enhance understanding of Ethiopia’s emerging capital market system among judicial actors.
By reinforcing cooperation between the two institutions, the MoU seeks to build knowledge and technical capacity in the country’s relatively new capital market legal regime.
This, in turn, will support the effective handling of complex financial and investment related legal disputes, enabling the delivery of timely, consistent, and predictable justice.
The partnership is also viewed as a strategic step toward establishing a uniform interpretation of capital market laws at the national level. Furthermore, it reflects the Afar Supreme Court’s efforts to align itself with evolving financial systems and modern legal demands.
The initiative is anticipated to serve as a model for other regional courts, contributing to broader judicial readiness and coherence in Ethiopia’s developing capital market ecosystem.
