Ethiopian Capital Market Administrative Tribunal staff conducts field visit to Dire Dawa Police Commission.

ECMAT staff conducted a field visit to Dire Dawa City Police Commission, where it observed the operations and technological initiatives of the Commission aimed at strengthening public safety and security.

During the visit to the police Commission, the Tribunal noted that the Dire Dawa Police have been implementing various modern technologies to prevent crimes and accidents.
Among the systems in use is the “EFP” application, developed by the Federal Police Commission, which enables citizens to report unlawful activities by submitting photos and videos through their smartphones.

Another technology called “Dire Engida” system, a modern software utilized by, hotels, guesthouses, and pensions in Dire Dawa City, allows the Police Commission to access comprehensive information on individuals entering and staying in the city, thereby supporting security .

In addition, the Dire Dawa Police demonstrated the “Police 24” system, a 24-hour crime and incident management software.Through this system, taxis and three-wheeled vehicles (Bajajs), which are categorized as day and night service vehicles are monitored, which also enables police to verify vehicle assignments, receive real-time tip-offs supported by photographic evidence, and conduct comprehensive, paperless analysis.

The Tribunal staff were further briefed on the “Tadeg” traffic accident information management system, which enhances the effective deployment of traffic officers and contributes to reducing traffic-related incidents, according to police officials.

During the visit, the Tribunal staff also witnessed a moment, as Dire Dawa residents paused all activities at 6:00 p.m. until the national flag was lowered, reflecting strong patriotism.
