Ethiopian Capital Market Administrative Tribunal (ECMAT) Holds Awareness raising Forum for Sidama Region Justice sector Leaders and professionals.
The forum, held in Hawassa City, brought together participants from Sidama Region Supreme Court, Justice Bureau, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Police Commission, and Office of the President.
Opening the session, ECMAT Chairperson Abenet Zerefu emphasized that the training program focuses on the concept of capital market, its legal framework, the responsibilities of market participants, and prohibited trading practices along with their corresponding liabilities.
“This awareness-raising forum is of great importance for the success of the trading system and for ensuring integrity in the capital market,” said the Chair person Abenet.
Guest of honor Demise Dulecha, President of the Sidama Region Supreme Court, commended the initiative, noting that the establishment of the capital market in Ethiopia will play a vital role in supporting the country’s macroeconomic reform.
He further stated that the ECMAT awareness forum offers valuable insights for judges, prosecutors, and justice sector leaders, helping to enhance their understanding of the emerging capital market sector.
“Our institution will continue to provide the necessary support for the success of ECMAT’s collaborative efforts with Sidama Region Supreme Court,” Demise affirmed.
